The origins of the Brooklyn-based rock group Apes & Androids go back to a third-grade class in New Jersey where future singer/guitarists Brian Jacobs and David Tobias met. Soon they were writing music. While attending different colleges, they still wrote together long-distance, and they later reunited to form the band.
