Latin pop outfit Area 305 named after Miami's area code, comprises Cuban singer/percussionist and keyboardist Nelson Cano, Puerto Rican singer/keyboardist and flute player Ricky Ruiz, singer/guitarist Jonathon Fuzessy (born in Toledo, OH) who debuted in Viña del Mar festival with a song called "You Can Change the World," and Cuban singer/bassist Tony Choy.

Assembled by composer/producer Rudy Pérez in 2001, Area 305 debuted with a single called "Si Tú No Estas," with contributions from Roberto Livi, and released it through Univision Music Group in association with Rudy Pérez Enterprises (RPE). ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
