After awkwardly breaking up Tesla in 1996, lead vocalist Jeff Keith and guitarist Tommy Skeoch wanted to continue on with the blues-based hard rock sound of their prior band. Eventually recruiting Ray Hinkley (guitar), Denis Bostok (drums), and Steve Smith (bass) -- the latter of the two were formerly of Flame -- the Sacramento-based Bar7 resulted in 1998.
