Carl Michael Bellman

This talented Swedish poet was also a master of the parody. He employed the music of others for new verse. Bellman even went so far as to use music of Haydn and Mozart. Carl was quite popular and quite the entertainer. The bulk of his musical compositions were drinking songs that depicted the life of men who were known to over-indulge, and, tartish women. 1700 of Carl Bellman's poems are extant. ~ Keith Johnson, Rovi
