Bullfrog

Forming in 1994, in Montreal, Canada, Bullfrog started conquering the North American dance club scene shortly after their first performances. Consisting of Mark Robertson (guitar, vocals), Eric San also known as Kid Koala (turntables), James Sobers, Peter Santiago (bass), Massimo Sansalone (drums), and Joanna Peters (percussion, vocals), Bullfrog chose to blend a series of styles and influences for their tunes. Combining pop influences with danceable rhythms and achieving multiple and visionary melodies, the crew relied mostly on their common musical experience as its main inspiration, namely Koala, also a collaborator for Gorillaz and Deltron 3030. The group's energizing rhythms brought them an ever-growing power at their restless shows and at the same time secured them a considerable following. Performing on the same stage as Maceo Paker and Medeski Marin & Wood, Bullfrog steadily increased its loyal fan base and confirmed its respectable praise during the following years. After releasing two self-titled EPs and playing numberless live performances, it was only in 2001 that the team ultimately decided to release their self-titled debut album, Bullfrog. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, Rovi
