  1. The chief engineer at Ghetto Recorders in Detroit, Jim Diamond has played an instrumental role in the evolution of the city's R&B. Although he's played bass in the Dirtbombs, baritone 12-string guitar with the Witches, and organ with his own band, Jim Diamond's Pop Monsoon, he's made his greatest impression as a highly creative producer and recording engineer. He engineered and produced the multi-artist compilation Ghettoblaster: A Detroit Music Sampler, Vol. 1 in 1997 and went on to engineer recordings by the Dirtbombs, the Red Aunts, and Slumber Party, and produce Hip Check!, the second album by the Come Ons. He was responsible for additional recordings by Bantam Rooster, the Dirtys, Andre Williams, the Blowtops, the Silencers, and les Sexareenos. He appeared, with the Wildbunch, under the alias Bill Clinton. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
