Tom Paley is well known from his years with the New Lost City Ramblers in the late '50s and early '60s. After moving to Sweden and then to England, Paley continued to advance traditional music from throughout the world, recording with traditional artists including Jean Ritchie and Peggy Seeger. He also added traditional Scandinavian music to his repertoire, collaborating with his son Ben on such albums as On a Cold Winter Night (1993) and Svenska Låtar: Swedish Fiddle Tunes (1998). Always a fine source of unusual traditional music, Tom Paley has continued recording into the 21st century, issuing Beware Young Ladies! (with Bert Deivert) in 2007. ~ Don Stevens, Rovi
