Salt-N-Pepa were pioneering females with a headstrong vision and a positive message. These sassy MCs caused a sensation in a male-dominated scene, taking on hot button topics like AIDS and abusive relationships while delivering witty put-downs to poorly-endowed lovers. They broke up in 2002, but you can catch their journey to return to the stage on VH1's Salt-n-Pepa Show. Here, they put together an exclusive mix of tracks for working out, getting ready for the club, and everything in between.

Carl Thomas, "Emotional"

Salt: Carl Thomas' "Emotional." That's my album that you can play straight through. We need Carl Thomas! Where is he? We need that guy! He's so awesome!

Pepa: My nose! You just made me laugh 'cause I was about to say somethin', I'm not gonna say that! [Laughs] No, no, no, no.

Salt: Alright. You need some tissue?

Pepa: No. Is my nose runnin'?

Salt: No, there's nothing.

John Legend, "Ordinary People"

Salt: John Legend is another one for me. I'm a person who likes the first breaking album of an artist. "We're ordinary people." Everybody could relate to that song, right?

Pepa: Just take it slow...

Salt: Yeah, easy- take it easy, you know? 'Cause that passion and that love just burns so--

Pepa: Quick. It fizz out. Like a, like a firecracker that...like a dud.

Salt: And if you take it slow, like a candle, it will last... longer.

Justin Timberlake, "Sexyback"

Pepa: He's bringing sexy back! That's my 'get dressed' song.

Salt: That's your get-ready-for-the-club song.

Pepa: For real! Like I'm in the middle, hyped up, doing my little make up! Yes it is!

Kirk Franklin, "Imagine Me"

Salt: It's about self-esteem. "Imagine me being free of my issues and stuff that people said about me and put on me."

Pepa: We can relate to that song. You be like... "Just keep rewinding it!"

Salt: I'm free of my self-esteem issues! Yes! Singing my song!

Salt-N-Pepa, "The Clock is Ticking"

Salt: My favorite Salt-N-Pepa album isn't a popular one. It was about abuse--

Pepa: The rock 'n roll song!

Salt: It was our message to women: "Don't waste your time in an abuse relationship, because the clock is tickin."

Pepa: I remember. I love that song. Can we do it over, maybe, or something?

Salt: Maybe we should, because that needs to be heard.

Pepa: Very rock 'n roll. It was very grungy.

Black Eyed Peas, "Let's Get It Started"

Salt: My workout song is Black Eyed Peas. "Let's get it started! Let's get it started in here! Let's get it!" I love them. That's a great album, too.

Maroon 5, "This Love"

Salt: And how 'bout Maroon 5? [Singing] "This love has taken its toll on me. She said goodbye too many times!" I wish I could sing!

Atlantic Star, "Secret Lovers"

Pepa: You know I had a secret lover...

Salt: No you didn't!

Pepa: I can't tell his name!

Salt: Why was it a secret?

Pepa: For many reasons. But honey, I used to just play that song -- I love that song -- and I just thought about him. It's the forbidden love, that one right there. He's a star, I can't be blowin' him up! [Laughs]

Salt: Let's keep it a secret then.

Mariah Carey, "We Belong Together"

Salt: You find that one album that you can just listen through, you know? You can drive and never have to fast forward.

Pepa: It's very funny that you said "drive" because when I did the Gumball Rally - remember when I went overseas and I did that race? [Gumball is a 3,000 mile race across various continents. Pepa participated in 2005's UK race]. That album, I was listening to it over and over, racing. Incredible.

Christiana Aguilera featuring Lil' Kim, Mya and Pink, "Lady Marmalade

Pepa: Egypt, my little girl, loves that song. She sings it all the time. She does everybody parts. She does the ad-libs, she does Lil' Kim's rhymes.

Salt: No way! You let her do Lil' Kim's rhyme?

Pepa: [Silence]

Salt: No, no, no. I'ma tell her 'Leave that part out.'

Pepa: I know, I know. I told her "Only in front of me!"

Salt-N-Pepa, "Push It"

Salt: What is your favorite Salt-N-Pepa song?

Pepa: "Push It", of course.

Salt: Oh, of course. That was a dumb question.

Pepa: Love to hear "Push It" on the stage one day.

Salt: Now isn't that everybody's favorite song, right?

T.I., "What You Know?"

Pepa: "What you know about that? What you know about that?"

Beanie Man and Ms. Thing, "Dude"

Pepa: [Singing] ..."Do me if you can." [Laughs] I don't wanna say all the words 'cause it's a little fresh.

Salt: Is it? Surprise!

Pepa: It's a lil', lil' fresh.

Salt: Pepa picked a fresh song...surprise.

Pepa: She don't want no "one, two, three-hour man," you know. And she's like, "Do me in a van." [Laughs] Anywhere.

Bon Jovi, "Dead or Alive"

Pepa: Can I add my rock and roll song? Bon Jovi, [from] Slippery When Wet?

Salt: Alright. Bon Jovi. I respect that.

Pepa: "Dead or Alive." That's my karaoke song. It's about an artist being on the road. You're wanted by your fans, dead or alive.

Salt: I can relate. That's deep. I remember being on that tour bus feeling like "I just wanna go home." But we just sold out an arena, and they want us. They want you dead or alive!

Pepa: Remember when I fell off the stage? Tore a ligament, ripped my back of my legs, and got back and we was still doing those shows, 'cause we're booked.

Salt: I read online the other day, this guy talkin' 'bout, "Salt, she had got a lot of nerve. I don't care if she found God or whatever happened in her life, she had a lot of nerve turning her back on her fans." It's like you ain't supposed to have no life! You supposed to be out there working and performing!

Missy Elliott, "Work It"

Pepa: Of course my girl Missy.

Salt: That's your friend, right?

Pepa: Yes! My homegirl! That mouth is fresh!
