Elastica To Launch First U.S. Tour In Four Years

Brit-rock group Elastica's first U.S. tour in more than four years kicks off Sept. 20 in San Francisco, according to the band's management.

Menace,
which was released in the United States Aug. 22. The LP features the new single "Mad Dog," as well as the band's cover of the cult hit by '80s band Trio, "Da Da Da."

Elastica performed before an exuberant crowd at the Carling Weekend Reading Festival in England on Saturday (Aug. 26) but were forced to pull out of the Leeds Festival the following day after singer Justine Frischmann lost her voice.

Peaches & Gonzales, two Canadian-born, Germany-based solo artists who often work together, will open all but the first three dates of the tour. Peaches, whose music combines old-school dance, punk, rock and rap, releases her full-length debut in September. Gonzales' upcoming hip-hop/dance record, The Entertainist, is due in October. The duo's single, "Red Leather," is also due in October.
