Having just wrapped her opening stint on the Savage Garden tour, Detroit R&B singer Kina is preparing to shoot a video for "Me," the second single
from her self-titled solo debut album.
Kina already has spawned a hit single with its lead track, "Girl From the Gutter" (RealAudio excerpt), in which she vents frustration toward the music industry.
The vocalist recently said "Me" (RealAudio excerpt) was a flip side of sorts to the first single.
"['Me'] is just an affirmation," she said. "It symbolizes the growth I had achieved [in the studio] and how I realized that I wasn't that bad, that I'm OK. That's what the song is; it's me affirming that I love myself."
Kina said she expects the single to be out at the beginning of October. She will return to the stage Sept. 22 to take part in the first day of the Passport 2000 concert, being held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.
