Get out your cowboy hats, your Britney Spears belly T-shirts, and maybe even a Boy Toy necklace for old time's sake. No, you're probably not going to Madonna's exclusive British club show on November 28. But all you have to do is click
here to be taken to the Microsoft Web site where you can watch the show in a live Webcast.
Although only 3,500 invited guests will be attending Madonna's brief set, a show similar to the one she did at New York's Roseland club last Sunday, November 5, a Microsoft spokeswoman said that the online audience could be even larger than that for Paul McCartney's record-setting Webcast from Liverpool's Cavern last December. The Walrus' performance of some rock 'n' roll chestnuts drew 3 million viewers.
The people at Microsoft think they're ready for Madonna's material brethren. "We have done this kind of thing before and are becoming progressively better at it, so we hope to be able to avoid too much congestion," said the spokeswoman.
According to Madonna's official Web site, the Webcast is due to begin at 8 p.m. GMT or 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT. Madonna's special guests will include the Prodigy's Liam Howlett, Scottish popsters Texas, and former Verve singer Richard Ashcroft.
