Heathen marks the first release for Bowie's own ISO Records, a Columbia-distributed imprint he founded late last year after severing ties with Virgin. The tracks were written and recorded in late summer (see "Bowie Cuts New Album, Ties With Virgin Records"). A tour is expected to support the release.
