Fratarcangeli signed a warrant charging Mathers, 28, with felony possession of cocaine, driving with a suspended license and unsafe driving near a stopped emergency vehicle, according to a court spokesperson (see "Eminem's Ex-Wife Facing Possible Cocaine Charges"). The arrest occurred when police stopped Mathers at 2:30 a.m. and found two baggies containing what the court spokesperson said was "less than 25 grams" of cocaine. The drug charge carries a penalty of up to four years in prison, while the traffic violations could each net Mathers up to three months of jail time.

Mathers was traveling with another woman on Interstate 94 near 12 Mile Road when she was pulled over by St. Clair Shores police for the traffic violation. She is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday (July 1). Her lawyer, James Andary, could not be reached for comment by press time.

In July 2001, Mathers was arrested on felony cocaine possession; the charges were later dropped.

Eminem and Mathers divorced in October 2001 (see "Eminem's Divorce From Kimberly Mathers Finalized"), but have reportedly reconciled and then split again recently. The rapper's high school sweetheart is the subject of some of his most violent songs, including "Kim," a fictional account of her murder at his hands.
