He must be guzzling lots of Pimp Juice lately, because Nelly has had an incredible amount of energy. He worked around the clock and knocked out his new remix album, Da Derrty Versions (The Reinvention), in only three weeks.

all my albums pretty quickly," Nelly said backstage at the Source Awards on Monday, shortly after winning Artist of the Year (see "50 Cent, Nelly, Lil' Kim Win Big At Source Awards; Ja Rule Gets Booed"). "I did Country Grammar in three weeks. I did the Nellyville thing in like a month, and I did [the remix LP] in like a month also. It's kind of like the reinvention album. I redid some songs over and left some songs the same. 'Hot in Herre' — I couldn't do that over. There's nowhere for me to take that song. 'Dilemma' was the same way. So what we did was [put] different beats up under those [songs]."

Fortunately, a lot of marquee producers and guest star rappers were down to work on the project.

"I got Jermaine Dupri [to produce] 'Dilemma,' and I got [Ronald] Isley on 'Pimp Juice,' " Nelly said. "I got my man E-40 on 'Country Grammar' — he is the slanguist, so it's only right. I got the Clipse and Posta Boy on '#1.' I got David Banner, 8Ball & MJG on the 'Air Force Ones' remix. Banner did the track so it's crazy."

The rapper's longtime producer, Jason "Jay E" Epperson, did the track for the remix album's first single, "Iz U" (see "Nelly Takes Fans To 'The People's Court' On New Single"). In addition to Da Derrty Versions, the song will also appear in Eddie Murphy's upcoming "The Haunted Mansion."

"Oh yeah, the 'Iz U' joint," Nelly said, giving his trademark smile. "Well, you know it has 'The People's Court' beat behind it. I just heard it and I was like, 'Yo, I gotta do something to this.' It's more of an up-tempo, kind of bouncy joint. I didn't want to do too much with it. It's basically [about] girls hollering at you. They wanna be going where you're going. I think it's jumping off. It's hitting hard."

Da Derrty Versions (The Reinvention) hits stores November 25. Nelly will shoot a video for "Iz U" shortly, but no details are available yet.
