For months, mixtape fans have been waiting anxiously for the much-talked-about meeting on wax of north and south: Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne's I Can't Feel My Face.

whose music is currently resonating in all regions of the country. And everyone from Andre 3000 to Kanye West to Jay-Z has co-signed on Wayne as one of the premier lyricists in the game right now, and the MC seems destined to get the crown sometime in the not-too-distant future.

But it looks like fans are going to have to wait a little while longer for Face — Juelz and Wayne might make their set of collaborations a much bigger deal rather than just give it to the streets.

"It's a mixtape, but we just sat down and listened to it and noticed that we didn't use no outside beats," Wayne said late last month, sitting in his trailer on the set of his video for "Shooter" (see "In Thicke's Corner: Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Pharrell"). "We used all produced beats. We can go album with this. Look out for it, we are deciding [whether to release it as an official LP]."

Wayne's next LP will be an album of duets. It's the first full-length he's worked on with his "Pa," Cash Money Records co-CEO Brian "Baby" Williams. Their album, Like Father, Like Son, is currently being recorded in Miami. Wayne is also working on his solo LP, Tha Carter, Vol. III (see "Busy Lil Wayne Says 'I Am The Kobe Bryant Of Hip-Hop' ").

Santana, the cornerstone artist of Cam'ron's Diplomats Records, recently found himself in the middle of swirling industry rumors. There was much talk that Juelz and his future projects had been dropped from Def Jam, which distributes and markets his music.

In response, a rep from the label released a statement saying that Juelz is definitely still part of Def Jam's roster. "The rumor circulating that Juelz Santana has been dropped from Def Jam is absolutely false. Juelz is one of the hottest emerging artists in hip-hop, and we are proud to have him as part of the Def Jam family," the statement reads.

Santana is currently working on his next solo album as well as a slew of Dipset-related projects.
