The third annual Sounds of the Underground Tour will kick off July 6 in Dallas, with goo-splattering metallers Gwar topping the traveling metal-and-hardcore circus' bill, along with Chimaira, Every Time I Die, Necro and Job for a Cowboy. The
Rounding out this year's bill will be Darkest Hour, Amon Amarth, the Acacia Strain, Heavy Heavy Low Low, the Number 12 Looks Like You, the Devil Wears Prada, Goatwhore, This Is Hell, and 2 Cents. Additional special-guest headliners will be taking the Sounds stage on select dates. Although heavily rumored to be the tour's headliners, Massachusetts metal act Shadows Fall was nowhere to be found in the festival's lineup, which was released late Wednesday afternoon (April 11). "We are happy to announce that we will be taking part in this year's Sounds of the Underground," said Chimaira frontman Mark Hunter, in a statement. "We played the first year and we had a f---ing blast. This year, we are going to up the production level and bring something special to our fans. Then we will get wasted every night with Every Time I Die and Gwar. See you this summer." Unlike this summer's Ozzfest (see "Lamb Of God, Hatebreed, Lordi Onboard For This Summer's Free Ozzfest"), Sounds of the Underground tickets will cost you. They'll be available for presale starting April 25 and will be available to the general public May 11.
