MTV Movie Award for Best Performance Male for "High School Musical 3," will have a cameo in an episode of the show's sixth season, which kicks off July 12. An HBO rep told MTV that, like Mandy Moore in the past, Efron will be playing himself, although no other details about his plot were revealed.

On Tuesday, Efron was seen filming the cameo at Niketown in Beverly Hills, E! Newsreports. The crew, along with the "17 Again" star, arrived around 9 a.m., before the store opened, to shoot the scene.

"He was filming a scene and talking on his cell phone," one Niketown employee told the Web site. "None of the other 'Entourage' cast was here. He was really nice. ... He was wearing sunglasses, and he left in a limo with another guy."

Other cameos that are reportedly set for the upcoming season include Lil Wayne, Tom Brady and LeBron James. And E! reports that Gary Cole, Autumn Reeser and Kate Mara are joining the show as agents and assistants who work with Vincent Chase and the boys.

Of course, if Efron or Wayne needs any advice about acting on the show, they can always contact one of the A-listers who've appeared in the past, like Jimmy Kimmel, Luke Wilson, Kanye West, Martin Scorsese, Gary Busey, Snoop Dogg, Larry David and Jessica Alba.

Recently, Efron has said that he's looking to grow up a bit in the roles he's picking, and a cameo on "Entourage" would certainly help build a more mature image. "It's just a ton of timing. Right now, I'm looking for a new challenge," he told MTV News. "I'm very excited about the future and trying new things and the unknown. Not that I'm done with musicals in any way, but I feel like I've made somewhat of a mark there, and I'd like to try new things before going back to my safe place."
