The 1997 plane crash that killed singer/songwriter John Denver was caused by Denver's failure to refuel his experimental aircraft and by his lack of training, the National Transportation Safety Board has ruled. Safety investigators from the
organization said Tuesday that Denver probably was trying to manipulate a hard-to-reach handle controlling fuel flow when he lost control of the aircraft, according to the Reuters news service. The plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California on Oct. 12, 1997.
