The Beastie Boys, Garbage, Ben Harper and
Oasis' Noel and Liam Gallagher have contributed
tracks to a tribute to '70s mod band the Jam. Fire &
Skill The Songs of the Jam is due Nov.
1 in England on
Ignition Records; no U.S. release has been announced, according to
the album's official website (www.fireandskill.com). Led by Paul
Weller, the Jam rose to fame during the punk era, working in the
rock and R&B territory mined earlier by the Who. Fire
