The State Nickelback hadn't quite outgrown their love of Pearl Jam, but their second album grabbed your attention by having their noisy brawl suck any and all mellow vibes out of the building. The midpoint "Diggin' This" hinted that once they found themselves, Nickelback would really be hard to ignore.
Silver Side Up Anybody who loves "How You Remind Me" won't be disappointed. With nary a ballad in earshot, Silver Side Up is a band expertly navigating woofer-friendly riffs and dramatic pauses, liberally stealing from Led Zeppelin's Book of Kashmir and sounding very much like the state of rock's art.
