In Blue
... and in tandem with super-producer Mutt Lange, who was asked to do a Shania Twain on the sibling quartet. It remains to be seen if In Blue will attain Come On Over-size success, but the single "Breathless" plays neatly on the band's sexy image. Everything else bursts with AOR steroids, and the girls' spirited harmonies prevent the album from being a cynical marketing exercise.

Talk On Corners
Caveat emptor. After Corners became a massive European hit, Atlantic hired a phalanx of remixers to primp the group for American radio. Guinness-sippers will head straight for the import rack for the flavorful original version, and the Chieftains' appearance on Hendrix's "Little Wing." Everyone else can delight in the jaunty hooks of "So Young" and the Carole Bayer Sager ballad "I Never Loved You Anyway."

Forgiven, Not Forgotten
Those who sniff at the Corrs as corned beef and a Calvin Klein advertisement would be advised to seek out their debut album. The bodhran-battering, pennywhistle-blowing sisters show off their instrumental prowess on tracks with more than a whiff of the Liffey about them, but there's enough slick pop to buoy Forgiven into the U.K. top 40 after Talk on Corners became a crossover success.
