Well, it hurts my motherly heart to even say it, but one of our biggest obsessions of 2007, Baby Knut the Polar Bear, has finally gone through “the change”. He’s gone from Baby Bear in danger of not surviving to full grown man-bear, and our beloved Knutie hit the big 1 Years Old last week! Which, in bear years, we assume to be somewhere around 13 years of age, i.e. the perfect time to get Bear Mitzvahed! Check out these exclusive pics we were able to find from the Bear Mitzvah thrown for Knutie at the Berlin Zoo he’s been kickin’ back at. He’s changed so much over the past year! And apparently… can read Hebrew now. (throat clear) So put your socks on and enjoy!
Here’s our little baby Knut reading the Torah with his zoo handlers, Ira Goldberg and Shmuley Jones. When not murdering fish with his bare paws, Knut spent hours pouring over the ancient Hebraic texts so as not to embarrass himself at the big ceremony. After all, he’s now expected to be the bear of the house… if not his caged zoo pen.
