Tonight’s Dancing With The Stars Finale To Be Landmark Moment For Women’s Equality

|

This year Hillary Clinton has shown us that a woman could indeed become the President of the United States (were she more qualified for the job than the other, better, more charismatic candidate), but that’s not the only cultural hurdle women could possibly overcome this year. On a much more meaningful, important level, the outcome of tonight’s “Dancing With the Stars” finale could be an historic achievement for women everywhere, should Kristi Yamaguchi , who is a woman, prove to be the dominant competitor in the field of celebrity-dancing reality shows, which has thus far been utterly dominated by men. So you (women) think you can dance (as well as men), Yamaguchi? No pressure or anything, but the fate of the modern feminist movement basically rests on your shoulders. (Also, nice job Sandy Cohen with the Associated Press.)
