Raffaello Follieri, the entrepreneur who dated Anne Hathaway for years and hosted a 70th birthday party for John McCain, has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to taking $2.4 million from investors who mistakenly believed he could score them some sweet Vatican-owned real estate. This sentence comes despite Follieri’s attorneys begging the judge to keep his sentence to three years, as he totally meant to give that money to the Vatican someday, but “became intoxicated by it all.” Bye bye, Raffi.
