In 2002, Good Charlotte were angry young mall-punks singing lyrics like “Christina, wouldn’t wanna meet her/she hates you Britney, so you better run for cover/my girl’s…a riot girl!”? That riot girl (not grrrl?) must be pissed now: InTouch claims GC guitarist Benji Madden has been rolling with Britney Spears on the sly. “They’ve been on a few dates. They met once at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills for dinner in a hotel suite.” Oh, to have been a fly on the wall.
The mag’s source says Benji was on a shortlist of potential boyfriends for Brit made by her father and manager, including Jesse Metcalfe, Chace Crawford and Michael Phelps. Benji was allegedly the most interested. Did he want to piss off ex Paris Hilton by nailing her friend? If this story is remotely true, Benji Madden is one sad, sad attention whore.
