When news broke about Iceland’s economy collapsing in the fall, we wondered how on earth this ace country was going to pull through. And now we know – their biggest (OK, only) international superstar Bjork is going to sort it all out! Yay! The swan-outfit-wearing pop pixie has turned venture capitalist to, you know, like, fix stuff.
“[Bjork] has teamed up Audur Capital, a Reykjavik-based investment company founded and managed by women, to launch a sustainable investment fund. Bjork, 43, and the financial services firm have already pumped 100 million Icelandic kronur into the fund, which has been named after the diminutive star,” reports Britain’s Metro.
Unexpected it may be, but in these economically troubled times we’ve all got to do our bit. Expect Paris Hilton to do the same for the US, and Jodie Marsh to help out Britain’s ailing property market. Or not. [Photo: Splash News Online]
