Rapper Lil’ Kim has serious issues with the new Biggie biopic, and is voicing her discontent. But is she beefin’ because the film shows the late rapper disrespecting her and their relationship?
Kim released this miffed statement articulating her feelings about the film’s portrayal of her:
“The film studio and producers involved were more concerned about painting me as a ‘character’ to create a more interesting story line instead of a person with talent, self-respect and who was able to achieve her own career success through hard work. Even though my relationship with Big was at times very difficult and complicated (as with most relationships we have all experienced at one time or another), it was also genuine and built on great admiration and love for each other. Regardless of the many lies in the movie and false portrayal of me to help carry a story line through, I will still continue to carry his legacy through my hard work and music.”
But Biggie’s mom, Voletta Wallace, reacted with pity for Kim after seeing the film, which leads us to wonder if this is why Kim is so ticked off. “I felt bad for Kim,” the Notorious M.O.M. said to D.J. Angie Martinez. “Bad because Christopher did not treat her well. Christopher didn’t love her the way she deserved to be loved. I honestly felt Christopher cheated on her, Christopher lied to her.”
Voletta also added this statement, warning Kim to back the eff off. “This is not a Lil Kim movie,” she said. “This is a Christopher Wallace movie. It has nothing to do with Lil Kim. If she’s disappointed and upset, that is her problem.” [Photo: GettyImages]
