Former French President Jacques Chirac‘s clinically depressed, pill-popping poodle Sumo got all 5150 on him. Sumo viciously attacked his owner “for no apparent reason” in a bizarre episode that put Jacques’ wife Bernadette into quite a tizzy.
“If you only knew! I had a dramatic day yesterday. Sumo bit my husband!” Bernadette Chirac, 74, told VSD magazine.
Sumo, a white Maltese poodle who is being treated for depression, reportedly has been increasingly prone to making “vicious, unprovoked attacks.”
Mrs. Chirac continued, “We were aware the animal was unpredictable and is being treated with pills for depression. My husband was bitten quite badly but he is sure to make a full recovery in weeks.”
Hopefully Sumo can get psychologically sorted out and return to the cushy pad shared with Jacques and Mrs. Chirac. Sumo would likely not be too happy in a padded cell. Check out our gallery of Sumo in happier, more mentally stable times. [Source: FoxNews.com; Photo: Getty Images]
