Well-known actor Ron Silver passed away this weekend at the age of 62. The West Wing star had battled esophageal cancer for two years, and was best known for his work on stage and screen. He nabbed a Tony for his work in the David Mamet play Speed The Plow and won raves for his portrayal of Alan Dershowitz in Reversal of Fortune.
Silver was also known for his political activism as a democrat-turned-staunch conservative. He labeled himself a “9-11 republican” and narrarated a film rebuttal to Michael Moore‘s Fahrenheit 9-11, called Fahrenhype 9/11. [EW/Guardian. Photo: GettyImages]
