Kara Vs. Paula: Who Should Stay?

With episodes running late and rumors of backstage drama, it’s hard to believe that both Kara DioGuardi and Paula Abdul will be around for the next season of American Idol. But which one should go?

The producers didn’t tell the other judges about DioGuardi’s addition before the season started, and most believe the goal was to push Abdul out. “Despite what everyone tells you … and they’re all denying it, they want her off the show,” an insider told the Chicago Sun-Times last week. “Everyone’s tired of her bizarre and always unpredictable behavior and temper tantrums.”

But the veterans are closing ranks. In a new TV Guide interview, Simon Cowell says “I’ve always made it clear that I wouldn’t like to do the show without [Abdul, Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson]. I would fight for any of them.” Meanwhile, anyone can tell Randy’s tired of having to shout over two women to Simon. Something has to change!
