The cream of the entertainment world were whooping it up at the Correspondent’s Dinner in Washington over the weekend, but amazingly, the world’s current biggest star (ahem) wasn’t there. No, Susan Boyle, the Britain’s Got Talent/YouTube superstar, turned down an invite from President Barack Obama to attend the bash, because she was too nervous.
“She was shocked and thrilled by the invite — but it was all too much too soon for her so she said no,” says a source. What, a thrust-into-the-limelight normal person who actually decides to take this fame thing as slowly and carefully as possible? Surely not.
