Cameron Douglas, son of Michael Douglas, was arrested last week on drug charges and this one was big time, not some “there’s a joint in my notebook” deal. Douglas was busted at the Gansevoort Hotel on July 28, high as a kite, after authorities were tipped off that he was planning to deal a half-pound of crystal meth. The drugs, worth $18,000, were being transported from California to New York, but they were intercepted before Douglas got them. The DEA had apparently been tracking him for a while.
This is not Douglas’ first run-in with the law, he was also arrested in 2007 for cocaine possession. His father Michael, who ironically played a drug czar in Traffic, also battled drugs publicly and attended rehab in the early 1990s before meeting a cold turkey named Catherine Zeta-Jones.
