Oprah Sued For – Wait For It – $1 Trillion

Oprah Winfrey

Here’s a lawsuit that goes far beyond the small claims of The People’s Court. Writer Damon Lloyd Goffe, from the Bronx, NY, is suing Oprah Winfrey for ONE TRILLION DOLLARS. Goffe is claiming that, “in April 2008 Oprah confessed to seizing original works of authorship,” as in Goffe’s draft of his book A Tome of Poetry, and published them on the internet under the title Pieces of My Soul. Conveniently, the website and the book are no longer live and can’t be found on the internet. Yep, this whole situation sounds shady.

Goffe claims that 650 million copies of the book were sold at $20 apiece, hence the trillion dollar figure. Um, 650 million is a lot of books. In fact, the only books known to have sold more than 500 million copies, ever, are The Bible, The Koran and China’s Little Red Book. We think Oprah is powerful, but putting her up there with Jesus and Allah might be pushing it. [Photo: GettyImages]
