Chris Brown showed up in court yesterday to be sentenced in his domestic violence case against Rihanna. The disgraced star landed five years of probation and 180 hours of community labor for assaulting his former girlfriend after the Grammy awards this past February. What’s more, despite those rumors that the ex-lovebirds had been hooking up, he was ordered to maintain a 100 yard distance from Ri until 2014, reduced to 10 yards at industry events – and faces potential jail time if this is violated.
Most shockingly however, was the detail released that this attack wasn’t the first violent altercation between the pair. Three months before, Brown shoved Rihanna into a wall during an argument after she hit him, and two months after that, he smashed the windows in her Range Rover when they were fighting in Barbados. Neither of these altercations were reported to police at the time. He’s already apologized on YouTube, but we hope those hours of trash pickup give Chris some space to think through what he’s done.
