Charlie Sheen Accused Of Threatening Wife With Knife

Charlie Sheen, the highly paid star of Two And A Half Men, was arrested on domestic violence charges in Aspen after a Christmas day argument with wife Brooke Mueller. Notorious for his anger and alcohol issues (“We’re always on pins and needles, not knowing when he’ll explode,” a show staffer told the Chicago Sun-Times), Sheen has previously been accused of violence by ex-wife Denise Richards and was arrested in 1997 for allegedly assaulting then-girlfriend Brittany Ashland. Mueller, who told police Sheen threatened her with a knife, has reportedly taken back most of her account. Mueller was legally drunk at the time of Sheen’s arrest.

“They were fighting at a dinner in a friend’s house and it continued until the next morning,” a source told People. “Both of them were drinking and neither was supposed to be. They both have histories of alcohol abuse and have made every effort to stop. But things got out of hand.” Mueller gave birth to twins Bob and Max last March. “[Sheen and Mueller] have two children together and they love one another,” said Sheen’s lawyer. “They’re going to work through what is a difficult time and they’re going to do that together and as privately as possible.”
