There were a lot of hot looks at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards and it was no easy task narrowing down the best of the best. Still, we managed to wade through all of sartorial options that Hollywood presented us and we narrowed it down to our ten favorites.
Anna Kendrick‘s long black dress had a beautiful silhouette, but what really wowed us was the elegant back detail and frilly bottom. We love her polished ponytail too, which gave the look a fun, youthful touch.
We love the detailing along Mo’nique‘s neckline, but her other accessory (that would be a Best Supporting Actress statue for Precious) is pretty stunning too. Her look is polished and that dress fits her like a glove. This is one of the more understated outfits Mo’nique has worn on the red carpet, and we love it.
Top eight looks after the jump!
Heather Graham and Julianne Moore‘s dresses looked like they were literally cut from the same cloth, and while we prefer Julianne’s short and sassy look, Heather looks pretty fine herself. She might have played a hooker with a heart of gold in The Hangover, but here she’s dressing like a class act. We know, we know, we can’t believe she made our best dressed list either.
Abbie Cornish wowed us in this little black number. Just goes to show you that if something fits perfectly, it needs little else to adorn it.
We don’t normally pair up our best dressed, but newly engaged lovebirds John Krasinski and Emily Blunt accessorize one another so well we thought we should give them an honorable mention for best looking couple. We love Emily’s shiny silver look and her matching shoes, but really it’s the man on her arm that’s making her glow.
Diane Kruger was cast as Helen of Troy for good reason. The woman looks like a goddess and can pull off anything, and this floor length white number flows over her with ease. We’d hate her if we didn’t love her so much in Inglourious Basterds.
Julianne Moore can do bold color like no other, and we’re loving this red hair on red dress look. It helps to be naturally radiant, too, but Julianne makes even the boldest looks seem effortless.
Carey Mulligan could have easily fallen into that pixie-ish trap that waifs with great haircuts so often do and gone with a short and sweet look. We love, love, love that she’s put some bold jewelry and chunky belt to good use against her gorgeous, pocketed frock instead. Carey just gave us an education…in style.
If we had one complaint about Avatar and Star Trek star Zoe Saldana‘s outfit, it would be that we think she might topple out of her too-high shoes. However, the dress? We love. Simple and sweet, it’s a winner for this fun and festive evening.
At 15, Saoirse Ronan is showing all the poise and elegance of some of her older Hollywood counterparts, and certainly doesn’t appear to be falling into any of the traps that some of her peers like garter-loving Taylor Momsen or skin-paint-loving Ashley Greene have fallen into. In a modest long-sleeve mini and hot gold booties, we think Saoirse looked better than most of the celebs who graced the red carpet tonight.
