Leonardo DiCaprio Says Goodbye To “Traumatic” Shutter Island

Almost two years after shooting began—and four months after its original release date—Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Shutter Island (director Martin Scorsese‘s fourth straight feature with the star), finally enjoyed its US debut last night at New York’s Ziegfeld Theater. “I have to say Shutter Island was one of the most intense, hardcore filming experiences I’ve ever had,” the actor recently told Parade. “It was really very traumatic, and I don’t say that about a film very often. I went to places and unearthed some things that I didn’t think I was capable of.” Leo obviously doesn’t hold it against the director though; the pair plan to reteam for biopics of both Frank Sinatra and Theodore Roosevelt. These two just can’t get enough of each other.

Attending alongside Marty and Leo were co-stars Michelle Williams, Mark Ruffalo, Patricia Clarkson and Ben Kingsley, along with fans like AnnaLynne McCord, Mick Jagger and Mira Sorvino. See what they wore in the gallery below.
