Is Madonna Really Glad About Her Glee Episode?

Despite Madonna‘s queenly message of approval towards Glee‘s upcoming episode featuring her music (“I think Mr. Schuester is very cute and I’m glad he’s doing such a good job empowering all the girls,” she said in a statement), we’re not so sure the Material Mom is ecstatic about the show’s decision to spotlight her work. According to PopEater, Madge had never even heard of the show before she was asked to approve. “Madonna doesn’t have a TV and has no idea what Glee is. The show did ask her if she wanted to make an appearance in the much-hyped Madonna episode. She said ‘no thanks’ and, to be honest, she would rather they sing an Elton John song than butcher one of hers.” Gasp! Does Lourdes not watch Glee either? We know she’s running a fashion line, but she’s still thirteen!

While buzz about the episode first hit in October, we can’t help but wonder if Madonna’s willingness to hand over her catalog had something to do with recent rumor that she made some concessions to her old label to score boytoy Jesus Luz a record deal, allowing them to put her music in more promotions and programs. Jane Lynch‘s “Vogue” video might only be the tip of the iceberg—by summer, you might not be able to get through an ad break without hearing one of her classics.
