The split between Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry may being going as smoothly as hoped. Despite word from Halle’s publicist that the pair had split “some time ago,” Radar Online says the Canadian male model is furious with his treatment in the media since word finally broke. “Gabriel is not happy at how he is being portrayed, as some kind of dead beat dad that was living off of Halle and her celebrity. It couldn’t be any further from the truth,” says their source, claiming Aubry makes upwards of $700,000 a year. “[He] is seriously considering challenging the custody agreement that he has with Halle, splitting the care giving of [daughter] Nahla 50/50. Gabriel is concerned about the craziness surrounding their breakup and he’s concerned about the effect it is having on Nahla…He’s also concerned that he’s being bad mouthed by Halle’s people, when he’s done nothing to deserve that.”
If he’s really making that much money—and Halle’s team is behind People‘s claims that she “kicked him out months ago” for “not pulling his weight in the relationship“—it would be more than a little ironic, considering her cinematic success—or lack of it—since winning an Oscar in 2002. Though the last decade has given her a Bond hit (Die Another Day), the X-Men trilogy and Robots, her biggest solo vehicle remains the 2003 thriller Gothika ($53 million) and she’s been nowhere near a hit since she last played Storm in 2006 (and quick, try to remember five interesting things she did in those movies). If Halle’s making more money than Gabriel these days, it’s probably from modeling too. See photos of the family last year in the gallery below.
