Jonathan Rhys-Meyers Shouted “N”-Word In Drunken Airport Rant

If you see Jonathan Rhys-Meyers in an airport, run. The Tudors actor was banned from United Airlines earlier this month after a violent episode at JFK that may have been even sadder than we knew. Initial reports had Rhys-Meyers, a frequent rehab resident, “pounding drinks” before 7am at the airport lounge and wilding out in line for the plane. Now Radar says his drunken ranting included the “n”-word, though witnesses were unclear whether he was referring to an individual or just shouting it out for the world to enjoy. Good news, Jonathan—they have rehab for that now, too!

This is hardly the first time the Velvet Goldmine star has had trouble flying the friendly skies, getting arrested for belligerence at airports in both Dublin and Paris over the last three years. “I didn’t start drinking until I was 25,” the 32-year-old told an Irish newspaper last year (Rhys-Meyers has not commented on this latest episode). “Since then I’ve been drunk maybe a dozen and a half times. When I do I’m like Bambi. I’m all over the place, hopeless, like a 16-year-old kid. People notice.” Maybe Bambi needs to stay away from the airport lounge from now on.
