What a week — actually, a couple of months — it’s been for Bret Michaels. Late last week, he had to go back to the hospital due to a “warning stroke,” where he discovered he had a hole in his heart. Chances were he wouldn’t be well enough to make it for Sunday’s finale of The Celebrity Apprentice. He managed to soldier on, though, and his rep Janna Elias said, “Bret is a very passionate person and refuses to live his life curled up in a ball wondering if or when something else might happen.” She added, “As his friends and staff we are all making sure that he is not taking any undue risks and we are certainly taking every precaution possible to insure his health and well being. If and when something else occurs we will deal with it at that time.”

Through sheer willpower, Bret made it to the finale, where he faced off against Holly Robinson Peete. He even hadtrouble on the flight from Arizona to New York City. His plane had to touch down in Nashville as sources say he was “complaining of a headache, lower back pain and some cramping in his legs.” However, his flight got back on course soon after and even though he was walking with a slight limp, he looked fit and ready during the show. Holly Robinson Peete was incredibly happy to see him and cried when he arrived. Before the show, she tweeted, “I know the whole country is pulling for Bret. In many ways I am too!”
The final task had the two assigned to create a new Snapple tea flavor. They each, also had to put together an ad campaign to promote it. Michaels did a diet Trop-a-Rocka blend, while Robinson Pete did Compassionberry tea.
In the end, in what was an emotional moment, Bret Michaels won, earning the American Diabetes Association a cool $250,000! Robinson Peete didn’t go empty handed, though; Donald Trump also awarded her $250,000 for her HollyRod Foundation.
Congratulations to both!
