Yesterday, Star Magazine reported that Bret Michaels proposed to his on-and-off girlfriend Kristi Lynn Gibson over the July 4th weekend. Judging from the pictures of them smooching and posing with their adorable daughters, we weren’t surprised by the news, but it turns out, it’s not true.
Bret appeared on the CBS Early Show today to promote his latest album and explained “No. We are not engaged yet, we’re a work in progress.” He said that the ring Kristi wears is not an engagement ring but “a promise ring … a friendship ring, with benefits. That’s what we call it.” Hey, they’ve been romantically involved for sixteen years and have two kids – as cute as their inevitable wedding-preparation reality show would be (you know it would happen), they don’t seem like the types to really rush things in order to make it legal.
