Britney Spears is creeping back into pop-culture’s collective consciousness with a bang. First with her guest spot on Glee and now by getting her face on magazines again. POP magazine has Britney beaming off their September cover, and she looks…how do we put this…interesting?
And it’s quite the cover, with Britney dressed as a Japanese manga bride in a Rodarte lace gown (swoon). The cover is art directed by Takashi Murakami and shot by Todd Cole, and it’s very cartoon-pop painting style. This is a big one for Brit-Brit; Murakami’s a pretty famous Japanese contemporary artist known for his “superflat” paintings. Hello high fashion! Hello Britney’s comeback?
