Former child star Melissa Gilbert recently said Miley Cyrus wanted us to see her 18th birthday bong hit, and it sounds like she’s at least half right. Friends of the singer tell TMZ that she knew the tape would probably come out—and didn’t really give a crap. “Miley doesn’t care,” says one of their sources. “She’s filming her movie and getting on with her life.”
What’s up to interpretation is whether her public Salvia suckage was a troubled teen’s cry for attention (as Gilbert would argue), or just another chance to show that Miley can’t be tamed. While she’s hardly the first (or even forty millionth) 18-year-old to experiment with drugs, she’s certainly blazing a trail Disney wouldn’t get behind—which might be why her team supposedly tried to buy the tape.
