Back in November we showed you a clip of Anne Hathaway during an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon where the actress revealed a fully fleshed-out plot line she created for herself on Glee as a singing lesbian. Mind you, she had not been cast as a guest star on the show, but apparently Glee creator Ryan Murphy was so smitten with Hathaway‘s enthusiasm, that he’s signing her on for the very role she thought up.

Last night at the Golden Globes, Murphy confirmed the news, saying “We just finalized a deal with Anne tonight to come onto the show. She’s already created [her role]. She wants to play the lesbian aunt of Chris Colfer. Because everyone needs a lesbian aunt.” Colfer in the past has mentioned that Hathaway is part of his dream Glee cast, saying “Can you imagine a family with myself, Mike O’Malley, Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway? That’s one hell of a family!” Seriously! In addition to a cool fictional aunt, Colfer also won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series last night — not a bad night for the guy.
