All that waiting for Lindsay Lohan to get out of rehab so she could star in Inferno, the biopic about porn star Linda Lovelace, ended up being for nothing. Ultimately, due to timing issues Lohan was taken off the picture and replaced by Malin Ackerman. Thie film, which made headlines solely because of Lohan’s participation in it, is going to face an even tougher time because there’s yet another film about the Deep Throat star in the works, simply titled Lovelace and it was revealed that James Franco and Kate Hudson are in talks to star in it.
Their star power, plus Franco’s experience with sex tape production already boost the film’s appeal for us more than Inferno. That could just be a personal issue though: our only experience with Malin Ackerman love scenes begin and end with that scene from Watchmen we’d rather not relive, which totally ruined Leonard Cohen‘s “Hallelujah” for us forever. Of course the real question Hollywood needs to ask is why there need to be two Linda Lovelace biopics at all, seems like Deep Throat is enough of a legacy to leave behind.
