Is The Dark Knight Rises really going to be Inception 2? Christopher Nolan has already cast Inception bad-ass Tom Hardy as Bane in the Batman sequel, and Deadline Hollywood says fellow dream-teamer Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to play a Bat-villain as well. Though people have often commented on JGL’s physical similarity to Heath Ledger, we’re guessing they wouldn’t dare have him take on the Joker facepaint. Some plausible options include The Riddler (he does have a Frank Gorshin body), a younger Dr. Hugo Strange (Robin Williams was rumored for the role) or one of Bane’s three sidekicks from the Knightfall story, which included a falconer, a giant brute, and a creepy bald dude named “Zombie.”
We’re hoping for Zombie, but with Anne Hathaway‘s announcement coming quickly after the Catwoman auditions, fans probably won’t be left in the dark long if and when JGL signs on.
