Well, they certainly look enough like for Blake Lively to play a younger version of Sarah Jessica Parker, at least from a distance. Or maybe this is just the official outfit for New York actresses in their downtime. Either way, it seems like a natural fit for Lively to take over the role that Parker originated as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City. Lively is producer Michael Patrick King‘s choice to play a teenage Bradshaw in the SaTC prequel, The Carrie Diaries. Author Candace Bushnell has already written two books in the series that follows a 19-year-old Bradshaw to New York as she’s just starting out. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but if the reboot happens, a source says “There are no plans to bring SJP and the other girls back together in the old format. The prequel is about breathing new life into the story and exploring Carrie’s first few months in NYC and the beginning of her relationship with an older man.”
On the one hand, we think there’s nothing wrong with leaving well enough alone, but on the other, if they MUST continue the series, we think a prequel would be far more welcome than a third movie in the original franchise. We’re still not willing to forgive them for the desert disaster that was Sex And The City: 2.
