Don’t mess with Bieber. Or, more accurately, don’t piss off Bieber fans. That’s the lesson Best New Artist Grammy winner Esperanza Spalding is learning today. Spalding, a jazz bassist, beat Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence And The Machine, and Mumford & Sons in the category at the awards show last night, a huge upset since most people haven’t actually heard of her. As a result of her win, angry Beiber fans took to Spalding’s Wikipedia page to edit it with some false and spiteful new information.
Gawker.com took some screengrabs of Spalding’s page which has since been cleaned up, but had been updated with gems like “She is a f— reatard!” and “JUSTIN BIEBER DESERVED IT GO DIE IN A HOLE. WHO THE HECK ARE YOU ANYWAY?” and perhaps most cruel of all, that her middle name is “Quesadilla.” For more of the pleasantries the newest Wiki editors contributed, check out Gawker. Bieber himself was pretty upset not to win the award, saying “I worked really hard these past few years and you know, I’m not going to lie — I was disappointed.” But he then added “Bieber fans, don’t get too upset.
