Rolling Stone sure got a winner of a cover story out of Justin Bieber. The teen star gave up some bold quotes about the U.S. health care system (“Canada’s the best country in the world. We go to the doctor and we don’t need to worry about paying him, but here, your whole life, you’re broke because of medical bills,”) abortion (“It’s like killing a baby?”) and premarital sex (“I think you should just wait for the person you’re…in love with”). The writer even noticed that Bieber had a photo with Selena Gomez as his computer’s desktop image. How did all this get past the handlers?
And yet the most surprising aspect might be the cover (shot by supercreep shutterbug Terry Richardson), on which Bieber’s hair helmet is replaced with a spiky do more appropriate for his leather jacket and white undershirt (too bad they’ve already cast the 21 Jump Street movie). Is he getting ready to say goodbye to his trademark cut once and for all? With puberty already forcing some changes on him (“[He] doesn’t sound like what his fans think he sounds like,” admits his vocal coach), maybe he’s looking to make a few more.
